Arriving by car

The A5/A6 motorways connect large areas of the Rhine-Neckar region via exits and connecting trunk roads. The A5/A656 motorways have direct exits to Heidelberg.

Please bear in mind the low-emission zone for cars and buses in Heidelberg:

Vehicles with a red, yellow or green emissions sticker are permitted in the low-emission zones. From January 1, 2013, only vehicles with a green sticker can drive without restrictions within the low-emission zones.

Arriving by plane

Frankfurt Airport City (around 80 km away)

Transfer: Since 1983, airport shuttle service TLS has been operating a well-established "door-to-door" airport transfer service between the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and Frankfurt/Main airport. For more information, see http://www.tls-heidelberg.de/en/

Train: Trains depart from the long-distance train station opposite Terminal 1. You change in Mannheim to get to Heidelberg. For more information, see www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/

Stuttgart Airport (around 120 km away)

Transfer: S-Bahn local train direct to Stuttgart main train station. Stuttgart and Heidelberg are part of the Deutsche Bahn ICE and IC/EC network. For more information, see www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/

Parking in Heidelberg

We recommend you park in Old Town car park P9, P11, P12 or P13.
